Another Day Without

I had every intention of posting here yesterday, I really did. I even started to several times, but this time of year, it seems everything is urgent to someone else.

Yesterday was a very interesting and very long day. I started the morning by beginning a stroll around my hometown of Steelhead City. It has been a while since I have done so, and I was amazed at how much it has grown since the last time I went walkabout. Unfortunately, Ioan's last deposit into my linden coffers evaporated all too quickly, so I did not have as much to spend in support of my local merchants as I would have liked. But since we celebrate Twelfth Night as energetically as we do the Winter Solstice, Christmas, and the New Year, I still have time.

My most exciting discovery was the eyes at the Image Nation shop. There are other curiosities there and items of interest, but I stood at the viewing panel and gaped as though I were watching a first rate film. I clicked through them for about fifteen minutes, quickly first, then more slowly to savor the details. Ms. Agatha Sungsoo was mentioned in a Steelhead announcement, so I dropped her a note about transferrability, gift certificates, and custom orders. I actually did get myself a pair of Fire Opal Cat's Eyes by accident - I was trying for the more humanoid blues, but between my sticky mouse and irrasicble keyboard, the screen had changed before my transaction was complete. I wanted the Fire Opal, anyway - they are AWESOME - but decided to wait until later to complete the purchase for the blue. Ms. Sungsoo later sent me an IM in response to my note, and we spent several minutes in chat. She gave me the name of her partner, who is the artist, and I very much regret that I did not write down the talented young lady's name. But trust me, folks - you REALLY need to stop by the shop and see these incredible eyes. They're quite reasonably priced, too, which is just great icing on the delicious cake as far as I'm concerned.

My peregrinations were interrupted by the arrival inworld of my gorgeous friend Ms. Westland. I had just left Image Nation and gone next door to Silver Rose. Turns out Ms. Westland had been looking for an apartment, so I offered her crash space at my treehouse, or to sublet my anticipated place at the homesite next to Frau Lowey in Harborside. We spent a good deal of time talking about the beauties of Steelhead and it's wonderful citizens. She picked up the great freebies from Silver Rose as well as the free items at the depot.

Well, I've got a short term dance partner right now, so I'll finish this later with the really good stuff from the Steelhead "formal" dance....
